Ready for take off!

My little Olli turned one a few weeks ago and I couldn’t help but go a little overboard and planned him an adorable airplane themed party. I can only imagine how crazy I could have gone if I only had more time! The inspiration started with the cake and grew from there. The incredibly talented Ashley from Smash Cakes and Creations made the cake, airplane cookies, and cloud smash cake. Thanks Ashley, they couldn’t turned out more perfect! The banner and airplane cupcake toppers were found on Etsy and the sky backdrop, water bottle labels, and jet fuel sign were all easy DIY projects. It was a wonderful day spent with family and friends and I think the birthday boy had fun! Now, what to do for next year?

My sweet little Oliver is turning one today and I feel so blessed that he came into our lives. He has the sweetest spirit and lights up the room with his crooked little smile. You are a joy my sweet boy and I’ve loved every second of the past year.

I loved easter as a kid. My mom used to hide chocolate eggs all over the house and I remember being so excited to find them. She was a little too good at hiding them most of the time and we would be finding easter eggs all the way up to christmas. I’ve fallen in love with easter again now that I have my own boys and can’t wait to see how excited my 3-1/2 year old will be hunting for his eggs this weekend. Olli is a bit too little to hunt for eggs but the perfect age to have a fun little easter shoot. Happy Easter everyone! Happy hunting!

Fun in the sun!

My boys and I took a much needed holiday last week to the Mayan Riviera. The Mayan holds a special place in my heart as this is where my hubby and I got married almost six years ago. We hadn’t been back to this part of country since our wedding and we were so excited to go back and share it with our boys. Hanging poolside, playing in the sand, sipping sangria, and eating large amounts of guacamole (as you can see by little Oliver’s face) were our daily activities. We spent a few evenings in Playa del Carmen which has changed so much in the last six years and the streets were buzzing with energy. The boys were pretty wiped by the end of each day but the purchase of a spiderman mask seemed to really revitalize Nate one night in Playa. He literally thought he was spiderman and was shooting webs and running all around the streets. He was a big hit with everyone who saw him! The boys had so much fun each day and it was so great to see their excitement over all that we did. Sadly our trip had to come to an end but I will hold those incredible family memories with me for a lifetime.

Seeing these two little beauties together I just know they are going to be the best of friends. Big sister Nixi was so proud of her little sis and it made my heart smile seeing the bond they already have. Love!

This was one of my favourite families of the summer, they were just so sweet and down to earth and I loved hanging out with them. I was honoured to do both their bump shots and newborn shots and loved getting to see them so in love with their new addition. Baby L is one very lucky little girl!

Sweet Summer

I had such a great time with this sweet little family this summer. We spent the morning at a park down by the lake and I got such a kick out of baby L. She made these little growling/monster noises that were too cute….I could just eat her up! I can’t wait to see them again next summer!
